1 proud Papa my 6 y/o made me smile today!

My wife and I have always said we would support anything our kids wanted to do as far as sports, cheerleading ect. as long as they worked hard in school and give 100% at whatever the decide to do (don't ask to play sports then complain about practice your team is counting on you). The only stipulation was no beauty pagents and no school band. It's not that I have anything against bands and beauty pagents themselves, I really just can't stand a lot of the other parents. So, sitting around the house today Abby comes up to me and ask "Daddy can girls drive fast cars too?" I said "of course" thinking her brother had said something about women drivers, feeling kinda guilty thinking he had heard it from me. She then said "well do any girls drive race cars?" I replied "well yea, racing isn't just for boys." She asked who and the first girl that came to mind was .... Danika Patrick. I proceeded to show her some pictures and such of Danika. Well she then she jumps up and says "Daddy I wanna race cars and drive fast just like her, but I want to drive a Mustang down that staight road like at the car show first" (NMRA 2009). You could not imagine the smile on my face when she said that. So I showed her pictures of Ashley Force. She says "well I like her car but the other girl is prettier like me." I told her that I didn't know of any mustangs that she could drive at her age but there were JR dragsters that kids can start racing at 8 y/o. I then showed her some pictures of some of the JR drag cars. She says "ok that will work till I can get a mustang, but can I atleast put a mustang sticker on it?" Daddy said "whatever you want!"

So I'm stoked, wife not so much but she's coming around. She just wants her baby to be safe. So I'm doing some reseach on rules and such and looking for a car. Have a little time since she is 6 almost 7 before we get too serious. But needless to say between that and watching my boy play baseball today, I had a great day.
Bring what you got and hope you brought enough!
